Never mind the rain

Despite a constant drizzle in the afternoon we had a fun filled day yesterday at Plopsa Coo, a themepark here in Belgium. It was nice to do an outdoor activity with the entire family. I've been spending way too much time behind my computer lately and it just felt so good to be outside and watch the children play.

Our son is a real dare-devil and did about everything there was to do, just as we expected. Our daughter is not so keen but surprised us by doing much more than we had anticipated. She went on the mini karts after watching her brother doing a lap first and she even went on the rollercoaster. I don't think she'll be going on it again anytime soon though, because she got scared. She had chosen the front seat which made it of course even worse (both for her AND me because she was sitting between my legs). No tears though from my little girl. I think we were both glad when the ride was over.

Here's a little impression of our day:

Blogger seems to have decided that uploading more pictures at this moment isn't going to happen...

Today I managed to finish the invitations for my son's birthday party, so that's one thing of my list. We still have to go shopping for his present : he asked for a telescope. He's actually been saving himself and we said we would chip in. It seems like a good present, one that the entire family can enjoy and (hopefully!) we'll learn something as well. I'll have to stop by the library to pick up some children's books on astronomy...

Hi Tania
Sounds like a perfect family day. Theme parks are always so much fun.

How very brave of your not-so-dare-devil daughter to go on a rollercoaster.

Sounds like the planning for the party is underway. Do you have any more ideas for games?

Warmest wishes
Elise

tania,
a theme park always makes a gray day brighter. i can remember when i was only like 5 or 6 riding on my first rollercoaster. i too wanted in the front seat. so, they strapped my dad and me in; and it was one of the scariest things i ever remember doing:o
needless to say, it was about 30 years before i ever got back on one, and that was only because my daughter begged and pleaded, HA!!!
i hope your today is filled with sun (or should i say, "was filled with sun???" i always forget about the time difference:D)
hugs,
dani
