About the picture in my blog header...
A few years ago we had our family studio portraits taken. My daughter was 18 months at the time and my son was 4. Unfortunately the session did not go as I had originally imagined, and when we left the studio I actually cried. I really didn't think that the photographer would have been able to take any decent pictures.
Let's just say that I didn't expect much when we went back a few weeks later to pick up our pictures. We were happily surprised however and ended up buying almost all the pictures that had been taken that day. The one I posted is actually on display in my living room. I've really come to like it a lot. My little girl had had enough of the car by that time and my son was very annoyed that she cried while he was "driving", hence the faces. My little sweethearts... oh how I love them.
I'll try to post some of the other "before the tears"-pictures sometime soon, even if it were just for you to see that there were indeed some really lovely shots.
PS: the tears dried quickly and the angry faces didn't last very long...

My first Etsy buy
I bought my first items on Etsy today. This is one of the things I bought:
Isn't it just lovely? It's the "giddy up" button by Mandy from Belle & Boo. I can hardly wait for my package to arrive (hopefully sometime next week)!
Of course I also had to include the "Ava and the Carousel" buttons. Everytime I go over to Sheye Rosemeyer's blog I feel so saddened by the fact that she lost her beautiful little girl. Her blog is having a huge impact on me. Now I hug my children even tighter and I tend to be a bit softer on them. So thank you Sheye for sharing your story.

Catching a glimpse

My heart made a little jump today as I got my very first comment! Exciting news if you are a newbie blogger like myself.
I had commented on this lovely Valentine print by Sarah from Sarah Jane Studios and I was already proud of myself for finally doing so (as I have been admiring her work for some time now).
Imagine my surprise when I saw that she left me a comment, welcoming me into the blogging world!
On other blogs I've read about the warmth of the blogging community and I feel as if I've been able to catch of glimpse of that. It's a special feeling, knowing that someone on the other side of the world took the time to leave me a comment.
Thank you Sarah for making my day.
PS: In case you read this: I'm a fan of Wellesley and Winslow!

Beautiful blogs
There are a few blogs out there that inspire me. Some through their work, some through their words. Some through both.
The artwork above is called "Ava and the Carousel" and it is one of my favourites from Belle & Boo, an amazing artist from the UK. It is part of 'The Superprincess Series' and it was made in memory of Ava, a beautiful little girl who will always be remembered as 'The Superprincess'.
