Kilts and bagpipes

At the end of August we attended the Scottish Days. Not in Scotland (unfortunately), but not far from where we live. It's a two day happening where you can learn about Scottish food, drinks, dancing etc.

(Yes, I do realize I'm late at posting this at the end of October, but the pictures were too good not to post and since I can't seem to find anything else to blog about.... Besides, I thought Amanda might like this ;)

The Kintyre Schools Pipe Band

The kids loved watching the dancers.

These two girls were with the Kintyre Band.

There were so many different dances, and each time the dancers changed into a different outfit!

So cute.

It was a great way to end the summer holiday.

Frost

As a little girl I could look and look and look at the icy flowers that had formed on my bedroom window. Probably the only upside to not having heating upstairs.

The weather forecast is announcing first frost tomorrow.

Merry Thursday!

This is what I had in mind when I bought that chessboard I mentioned a few posts back:

perfect background for some ornament pictures!

(ornaments can now be found in my Etsy shop)

By the way, I did not forget to put a ribbon on the middle one: I turned that one into a brooch! Now isn't that just the perfect way to let someone know you love them?

Coming soon

to my Etsy shop!

I've been working hard this weekend in order to (finally) get some new items into my Etsy shop.

Last year I made some Christmas ornaments so this year I thought I'd make some more but with a new twist: new designs, brighter background fabric (I ♥ the burgundy red!) and slightly different stitching. They have also been stuffed a little which I think makes them look even better.

I've finished the first batch and now I still need to list everything on Etsy, so by the end of the week I hope to have listed them all (I have a few more designs that I'm still working on).

I've also been playing around with some ideas for the packaging and I think I'll go with this:

Perfect for gift giving or hanging in your own tree!
