A little peek

at some WIP (work in progress) over at our house.

Last week the kids asked if they could learn how to sew like me: with a real needle. My daughter is still a little too young to be trusted with a sharp needle, but my son has already done some sewing at school last year, so I let him start his own little project.
Can you guess what it is?

My son actually amazed me. I thought he would put this little project aside after only a few stitches, but he just kept going! Even when he hurt himself with the needle: there was just a little "ouch" and then he continued.

And this part of our "learning-how-to-sew-conversation" melted my heart: he said: " We can start our own shop and we'll sell lots of stuff and get rich!".

Oh, my little sweetie, how I wish we could (even if it would just be for the fact that we could still spend a lot of time together after you have grown up whilst your kisses and cuddles would be meant for other girls than me).

Of course my daughter didn't want to be left out of this little sewing project so she picked something out which I am sewing myself. She's been asking daily when it will be finished. A little patience, my sweetheart, sewing by hand takes up a lot of time. Once both projects have been completed I'll post some pictures!

Your son sounds like a real little entrepeneur - using his talents to open up a shop and make loads of money.

I like the idea of coming up with sewing projects. Handmade items are always treasured.

I can't wait to see the finished products. I'm sure your daughter will have you using any spare minute you may get to work on her piece.
