Grand opening

Dear blogreaders,

Welcome to the grand opening of my Etsy Shoppe!

Well, grand may not be the right word since I've only added two items so far but I will be adding a few more in the coming days.

I had initially planned to open my Etsy store on May 2nd, in honour of my son's birthday - making the opening day a 'day to (easily!) remember' - but some things got in the way (like having to resize all my pictures to a square size and eating more waffles and going to the fair ...) .

So, if this post has made you a little curious and you have a spare moment I invite you to visit my little shoppe. Feel free to leave me some feedback on what you think of it.
In the meantime I leave you with a little peek of what's still to come:

How wonderful, I will be back to visit again and have a look at the other items ~ the ones you have posted pictures of are just gorgeous.

Oh Tania, how very exciting. Congratulations to you on your grand opening. I love that you are making personalised items and it looks like your product range is diverse.

For me it is difficult to find many items (here in Australia at least) with Savanna's name on it. If I do come across something the name is usually spelt with a "h" at the end (unlike the spelling we chose). Anyway, that is no longer a problem now that I can buy from your shop.

What a gorgeous idea to put the rattle inside the duck on the bib. The personalised banner is very stylish.

I will be adding your Etsy shp to my favourites and popping in regularly.

I wish you every success with your Etsy shop.

Do you ever check out the blog Sarah and Abraham? Sarah is an artist and sells her work through an Etsy shop. Lately in her blog she has been providing loads of really useful advice about her experiences in the world of Etsy. her blog address is:

I am so happy for you in achieving the opening of your shop.

Love and best wishes
Elise

Dear Elise,

Thanks for your sweet comments.

I just wanted to say that the bib with the duck is actually store bought but I provide the personalisation using my home embroidery machine. I looked through various embroidered items on Etsy and noticed onesies, T-shirts and bibs that were store bought but then embroidered to add a little personal touch, so I thought I could include this bib.

The banner and the little purse are completely handmade.

I visit Sarah and Abraham quite often (found her through Sarah Jane) and the question in her 3rd post about Etsy (when did you feel ready to launch) is actually mine! She did give me that final push to go ahead.

Hello Tania,
CONGRATULATIONS on your shop opening, both items are adorable, the stitching on the bib is beautiful, what a good idea. I can't wait to see what else you will be adding.

Excellent Job on those items. I noticed your little label on the bag, and it is adorable. I'm glad you have that; it looks very professional. Ever since I saw your banner, I've been thinking about doing something similar to that concept. I want to make a WELCOME banner out of scrapbook paper and somehow hang them off a ribbon.

I love that your banner can be used every year as a birthday banner. Kids love things that are predictable and part of the birthday traditions. Will you offer the banner in other colors?

To Amy Jo: Thanks for your comment. I think the scrapbook banner is a great idea. Might we be seeing you on Etsy sometime soon?

The fabric I use for the banner is available in red and yellow too, but I didn't buy any because the colours were really bright. Then again, it's not because I didn't like them that others wouldn't, so maybe when I next visit the store I might buy a few metres.
