Wait until spring, Mr. Snowman

Yesterday evening there was a hint of snow in the air. This winter we've actually only had snow on two occasions and even then the snow had come and gone in a few hours, melting almost instantly. Imagine our delight to wake up this morning to this:

I know that technically speaking spring has begun, but we were so happy that the kids were finally able to play in the snow. It's a good thing they wake up early (what, did I actually say that ?), because by noon, all that was left was their snowman. He's getting smaller by the minute though. Even before 8 am the snow had started melting...

The kids sure had fun throwing snow at each other. I almost got hit as well, but I was holding the new camera, so they let me off the hook.

Birth of a snowman

You start with a little ball of snow...

You ask your big brother to give you a hand ...

Hello Mr. Snowman, how are you today?

Coming from a city where it never snows, I can only imagine how exciting it must have been to wake up and have enough snow to build a snow man. Looks like loads of fun.
