What REALLY happened...

Ah well, my Valentine's Day was perfectly laid out until.... I checked the movie theatre and found out that the movie I wanted to see had already been cancelled!

Still, since Valentine's Day is supposed to be spent with the one(s) you love, we did just that:

I still got to see a movie, it even had some romance in it, and we watched it all four of us together:

and went home with a happy heart! ♥

(and I'll watch Mr. Nobody when it comes out on DVD)

Missed

I missed checking up on you guys.

I missed writing here.

I missed seeing your comments.

I missed... my 2-year blogaversary. :(

I miss my voice (I have a really bad throath infection and sound really hoarse so the doctor put me on "speak arrest" so to speak ;). I plan to get better by Valentine's Day though, 'cuz hubby and I are going to see Mr. Nobody!

What if

I haven't seen Mr. Nobody yet, but I sincerely hope to see it while it plays in the theatre. I'm even considering getting a babysitter just so I could go see it with K. (yes, I'm smitten by the preview).

It's about making choices, about whether or not the life we have chosen to lead is the right one, it's about "What if...".

I don't expect any answers.

Oh, and one more thing about he movie.... it's directed by a Belgian!

The One with the Christmas Card

I thought I found the perfect Christmas card...

Cute isn't it?

But when I opened the box at home I noticed that there was not much room to write anything on said perfect Christmas card. But I could live with that. What I couldn't live with was when I took said perfect Christmas card to the post office and learned that it was "not a regular size". The kind lady behind the counter informed me that I would have to pay three times as much! Sorry, perfect Christmas card, but for that price I could have sent a nice scarf...

Of course there had to be a creative way to ensure that I could still send out my perfect Christmas card, but at the regular price. So, here's where I need your help. If you are one of the lucky few ;) to receive the perfect Christmas card then please tape the side that I cut open back together. You can put a glas and a small candle inside it afterwards... and still enjoy it.

Happy Holidays!

Champagne and LoveBirds

Bring out the bubbly!

Festive brooch for New Year's Eve or any time worth celebrating
(which in my opinion should be every day!)

"I take off my hat to you" (or "you can leave your hat on..." ;)

this brooch can mean anything you want it to.

And my favourite brooch, perhaps a little late for Christmas, but certainly in time for Valentine: spread some love with this LoveBird Brooch! Heart shaped polka dot fabric and a little blue bird. I hope you ♥ it too!

These brooches will soon make their appearance in my Etsy shop (price will be 10 USD).

Polka dot fabric also available in pink or red.

I have also been making a few custom toiletry bags for some friends and have decided that I will also put them in my Etsy shop. They measure 30 cm x 18 cm (so they are big enough to hold an electrical toothbrush) and can be personalised with the name of your choice (price will be 23 USD - fabric also available in red stripes with coordinating lining).

Available in the shop as soon as I'm able to upload!

Looking at the future

I'm not sure what the future will bring.

Not for me, not for my family.
Though I worry about too many things too much of the time, I still have, somewhere deep inside, a feeling that things will work out eventually. Maybe not everything will go as I hoped or as I had planned, but it will be fine nevertheless.
So even if this little girl would try out the Gothic look when she's older...
(Or in this case: a TV-watching zombie who has just eaten blue M&M's)
She'll still be my little girl.

Got to give it to her: she could definitely pull off the look !
