The halfway mark

Almost half of the Fall is behind us and last Monday, for the first time really, we got to enjoy it. We've been so busy indoors that we forgot to enjoy the outdoors... but now we did and it was splendid.

And not only are we leaving the first half of Autumn behind us, today also marks my own halfway point: 20 weeks. The thought leaves me with mixed feelings: only 20 more weeks and we get to meet our little one, only 20 more weeks to enjoy this little life inside of me...

We are all so excited to meet you... love you already to the moon and back.

I am happy because

• the scale is finally showing that I've put on some weight. There are only a few times in life when one can be happy about gaining weight, and this is one of them. (And I am happy because I've only gained about 1.5 kilos- I hope it keeps going slowly).
  

• from time to time I feel a certain little someone performing a summersault. I want to give a standing ovation for each little poke and prod since it feels so reassuring. I can hardly wait for those little kicks to become stronger so that the rest of the family can experience this wonderful feeling.
  


• I found a nice nightgown that I plan to wear when this little one decides to arrive. I didn't want to wear the same one as last time (yes, I still have it)

What's another year

On Thursday I added another year to my life.

At this moment of my life I don't yet care that much about the specific numbers. After all, the numbers themselves don't mean that much. You can feel old at 29 or young at 50... it all depends upon your point of view. As long as you still have hopes and dreams and look forward to things to come, I think you can feel young at any age.

And the most wonderful news? +1 sometimes equals 5... I'm sure you can do the math :-) I feel young, for I certainly have something to look forward to.

Peekaboo

Hello! I'm still here! But are you?

My laptop crashed almost a month ago now, and my internet/blog access has been reduced significantly. So I just wanted to let you all know that I'm fine, just bummed about my laptop crashing.

I hope to be back soon!

PS: Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I haven't been blogging much this year, but I thought I used to be able to drag my pictures downwards or upwards as I pleased. This time, it didn't work so the order of the pictures is not really how I wanted it.

Oh, and perhaps a question I should have asked when I first started blogging: Is it possible to get a full or at least a bigger screen to write your blogpost in than the one Blogger is currently offering me (which is really small - I'm guessing 2.5 x 6 inches or something)?

The first "m" on my daughter's tattoo disappeared after only one night. Somehow "I ♥ ama" doesn't give me exactly the same feeling as the original. But I can hardly hold that against her ;)

The best part about these tattoos (after the obvious 'they come off after a while")?

They light up in the dark. Oh yes :)

Raspberries & Chocolate

Apparently my husband is one of the few who still checks up on my blog. I have to admit... there hasn't been much going on on my blog lately and even I get somewhat depressed when I see it.

So... in this post I'd like to give some credit to that wonderful, supportive husband of mine who has really developed his baking skills since he enrolled in a baking class last September. Every Monday evening he has brought home one delicious treat after another (while only putting on about 1 extra pound ;)

And therefore I'd like to do a little show and tell.

Show:

Tell: This chocolate/raspberry bavarois was entirely (except for the swirly chocolate thingies) handmade by my husband! Of course, I would be happy with just the chocolate bottom part, but I have to admit: it looked (and tasted) really good!

I wonder how long it will be before he let's me know that he read my blog.

I might get lucky that evening ;)

And if I'm really lucky, he'll bake me some cookies. With raspberries. Pretty please?
